Depending on the specific Toyota model and era you drive, the "silent killer" usually boils down to one of these culprits:

1. Excessive Oil Consumption (The 2AZ-FE & Early Engine Piston Ring Issue)

For millions of owners of older Toyota vehicles (particularly those equipped with the 2AZ-FE 2.4L 4-cylinder engine found in mid-2000s Camrys, RAV4s, and Corolla variants), the silent killer has been low-tension piston rings.
