Step 1: Inspect and Clean Battery Terminals

buildup on the terminals, disconnect the battery (negative terminal first!),
mix a solution of baking soda and water, and scrub the corrosion away with a
wire brush. Reconnect securely.
Step 2: Test the Battery and Alternator

Use a digital multimeter
or take your car to a local auto parts store for a free load test.

With the engine running, check the voltage
again; it should jump to between 13.5 and 14.5 volts. If it
stays low, your alternator
